Which does IDx Resemble Most?

I don't think we can pinpoint which specific datsun or yore the IDx has pilfered its skin from, its likely a combination of all the good ones gone. So in your opinion which old Datsun was more equal in designing the IDx?

510

610

710

Cherry Coupe

Its gotta be the 510 for me, but I would be interested in seeing the IDx with some of the more fastback roof options that the other Datsun vehicles here show. Maybe the NISMO model could do more of a fastback with two seats and the more casual four door sedan can stick to the lines of the 510.

I still see more 610 in it than anything... IDx is much more fastbackish than the 510's ever really were...

all the datsun models take inspiration from each other. the 510 is probably the one they concentrated on though.

I can see some parts of each of these Datsun vehicles influencing the IDx. The 510 gives the overall shape, the 610 gives the taillights, and the Cherry Coupe has that roof detail that kinda looks like the floating roof design feature of the IDx.

It is maybe an inch more of a fast back than the 510, but I don't think you can honestly tell me that the IDx has a fastback roof when you compare it to the other Datsun models that have been compiled in this thread. The IDx might not be quite as boxy as the 510 but you can tell that it gets its shape from there.

can and will my friend

compared with

See how IDx keeps the raked deck of the 610 coming off the fastback roofline. its obviously smaller proportions but the lines match...

Alright I see where you are going with this. I'd say that the IDx is just taking inspiration generally from Datsun then. Elements of each Datsun here can be seen in the IDx. It looks like they just took the coolest parts from each one and then turned them into a neo-retro masterpiece.
