Thinking about Design...

This just smacked me in the head. Consider Nissans new design language...

now how can the IDx possibly stay in its current form come production time if it violates the new design language? Are they really going to leave it sticking out like a redheaded stepchild?

making it more unique than the rest wouldn't be a bad idea

from the pictures i seen it seems to follow the design other new nissans have to an extent which to me seems good enough

You can see similarities between the IDx and these concepts. The taillights match the two concepts, and the roofline on the sports sedan concept also matches the IDx.

The headlights are one part that I am interested to see what happens with.

In the end Nissan will move the concepts a bit closer to their new design language but I think it will still look like the concepts that it is based off of.

I dont know how you guys see any of IDX in the sport sedan? I'll give you the vague allusion in the tail lamps of IDx NISMO but the rest is nonsense!

I think you can see it more from a profile view of the sports sedan. it also has the floating roof and there is a similar design to the doors on both.

It is a bit of reach but they both look like they are from the same company. There are similarities.

c'mon man thats a huge reach to make, the profile is where most of the dichotomies start! IDx has that low belt line that cuts the car in half essentially. The sport sedan has the flowing belt line which arches over the front wheel, then the additional rear third contour over the rear fender.

Idx is essentially a slab side while SS is a flow side (trademarked and copyrighted )

Only similarity is just part of the C Pillar, aside from that nothing else, still good to see it share some feature even if it's minor.

I still see similarities in the doors. Sure there are differences but you can see that there is a bit of similar design features going on. The sports sedan has more of a fastback roof but other than that the two roofs are pretty similar.

where and how in the doors? I mean IDx doesnt have that rake to its belt that then carries over the fender. As for the roof, yes they're both floating but shape wise completely distinct...
