Nissan has planned a celebration to honor 30 years of its NISMO performance brand. Nissan will be hosting events at key venues starting with an event at the NISMO headquarters in Yokohama, Japan.
NISMO released an infographic showing all of the projects over the years including the first Le Mans racer in 1986 through next year's launch of the upcoming LMP1 racer. Some of the cars in that infographic will be on display at events over the next week.
There will be events held in Austin, TX, as well as the Nurburgring in Germany.
"NISMO owes its success to the hard work and sacrifice of our many predecessors. It also could not have grown to this extent had it not been for the support of all our fans, sponsors and collaborating companies. I would like to thank everyone for all their support throughout the years," said NISMO president, Shoichi Miyatani. “Next year we will be participating in the top category at the Le Mans 24 Hours for the first time in 17 years. I want us, as well as our fans, to head into this new challenge with everything we've got."
Its pretty impressive when you see all of that information all on one graphic. Hopefully there is only more great things to come. I still can't believe that they made a Juke NISMO. That car was ridiculous!
It would be cool if they had some 30th anniversary trim that people can choose for models they sell that offer a NISMO package
That would be really cool and the fact that we think it is cool means that there would likely be a large number of people who would be excited enough about it to buy it. Going back through NISMO history to make some cool liveries would be awesome.
